Paid Time Off

  • Paid Time Off - PTO hours is a combination of vacation, holiday and personal day hours. Benefited employees begin to accumulate PTO hours on the first pay period of employment. Benefited employees are eligible to use accumulated PTO hours after completing a total of 90 days of employment. Full-time benefited employees accumulate 5.5384 hours per pay period, part- time benefited employees accumulate .0692 hours per hours worked, for the first 4 years of service. Accumulation rate increases after completion of 4 years, 9 years and 14 years of service.
  • Sick hours - OLBH provides sick time accumulation at approximately 1 day per month for full-time employees and part-time employees accrue at a rate of 0.4615 times hours paid.
Annual Performance Planning & Reviews
  • OLBH provides annual reviews based on individual job performance. Our Incentive Bonus is based on meeting overall yearly Strategic Quality Plan goals.

Comprehensive Health Plan
  • OLBH offers a health plan that includes coverage for medical, dental, vision and flexible spending accounts.
  • The medical plan pays 100% reimbursement for covered services provided at OLBH.
  • OLBH provides a Medical opt-out contributions to a healthcare spending account.
  • OLBH provides MetLife®, a national dental network with preffered dental providers.
  • OLBH provides a vision plan utilizing Spectera® national vision network, including retail chains for vision care services.

Flexible Spending Accounts
  • OBLH offers health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts. Employees can set aside through payroll deduction a portion of their earnings to pay certain medical and dependent care expenses with pretax dollars.

Tax Sheltered Annuity
  • OLBH offers employees the opportunity to set aside through payroll deduction a portion of their earnings with no federal income tax paid until savings redeemed.

Tuition Reimbursement
  • OLBH provides a program that pays 100% of tuition and full-time employees $50 (part-time $25) for books per semester or quarter. There is a maximum of $1,500 for full-time and $750 for part-time per calendar year.

Life Insurance
  • OLBH provides all full-time employees one times annual salary and to part-time employees, $10,000 in life insurance coverage at no cost.

Pension Plan
  • OLBH provides a pension plan to supplement retirement income with social security. The pension plan is ERISA approved and has a five year vesting period.

Payroll Direct Deposit
  • OLBH provides to all employees, pay through direct deposit.

Credit Union
  • OLBH participates with Members Choice Credit Union. Full service ATM is conveniently located in the hospital. The Credit Union offers first and second mortgages, new and used car loans, low interest Visa cards, personal loans, competitive savings accounts, free checking accounts and Christmas Club Accounts.

  • Daycare Services
  • OLBH offers a drop off location for 24-hour photo processing. Pick-up is available in the OLBH gift shop.
  • OLBH offers employees convenient, free parking.
  • ATM access

Employee Fitness
  • OLBH encourages all employees to be physically active and health conscious. All employees (.5 FTE or greater) are eligible for a free single members to the Human Motion Vitality Center. Additional memberships can be purchased through payroll deduction.

Wellness Benefits
  • OLBH provides wellness benefits through the Blue Cross Blue Shield ® health plan:
    • Annual PAP lab
    • One bilateral mammogram for women ages 35 - 40
    • Annual bilateral mammogram for women ages 40 and older
    • Annual PSA lab for men ages 40 and older
    • Immunizations (not including flu shots)

    OLBH also provides a $300 Wellness Allowance. The Blue Cross Blue Shield® Medial Plan will pay up to an additional $300 of expenses for other routine adult wellness benefits for participants who are at least age 19. OLBH offers programs to help employees improve their wellness such as weight loss, smoking cessation, nutrition, exercise, etc.

Leave of Absence
  • OLBH provides Family and Medical Leaves of Absences, extended leaves of absence, Military Leave of Absence, Personal Leaves of Absence and Educational Leaves of Absence as outlined in the OLBH handbook.

Service Awards/Recognition Programs
  • Annual ceremony to honor employees who have provided years of dedicated employment, retirement recognition
  • Celebration of National Hospital Week with gifts for all employees
  • Various meal celebrations throughout the year
  • Good Help Award Program through the Bon Secours Health System

Retirement, College Savings and Financial Planning
  • OLBH offers an on-site investment professional from Hillard Lyons to assist with confidential personal financial planning and college savings opportunities.

Family Fun Day
  • OLBH annually holds a family fun day. Event includes meal, games, gifts and a fun outing for the entire family.

Referral Bonus Program
  • OLBH seeks your assistance in identifying qualified applicants for critical vacancies. For each full-time hire, a $2,000 bonus will be paid. For each part-time hire, a $1,000 bonus will be paid.

Flex Scheduling Options
  • OLBH offers flexible scheduling options in many departments as a work life benefit.

Employee Discounts
  • OLBH offers discounted King's Island Tickets with payroll deduction.
  • 50 establishments in the area have generously given OLBH employees a discount when an OLBH identification badge is presented.
  • Daily meal discounts in the OLBH cafeteria are offered

On-Site Continuing Education
  • ACLS, PALS, CPR, NRP many hours of nursing CEU, clinical education series, diabetes education, new employee orientation, CNA and RN orientation, Basic ECG, monthly day long updates, computer training, instructor classes for CPR, NRP, ACLS, PALS. OLBH provides on-line computer education free to staff.

Employee Benevolent Fund
  • The Employee Benevolent Fund provides financial aid for OLBH employees. The funds are to be used as a last resort for basic needs (i.e.,..food, clothing, shelter) when all other resources fail. It is a short-term confidential help for emergencies. The maximum amount you may request is $500. No repayment is required but contributions are encouraged in order to help future employees in need.
